Here are my top ten suggestions for 2015.

1.  Watch out for news of the Manchester International Festival.  This has been a magnificent event in recent (every second) years and the best shows always sell out fast.

2.  Be there at the opening of HOME in May 2015.  This promises to be a new journey for theatre and film in Manchester.

3.  Watch the best of 2014 Fringe theatre at HOME’s Re:play festival in January.

4.  Get down to Joshua Brooks for one of the JB Shorts.  Six fifteen minute plays; something for everyone.

5.  Visit the King’s Arms.  Some of Manchester’s best theatre is here.

6.  Whatever form the 24:7 festival takes this year in July, make sure you see at least one production.

7.  The Royal Exchange is always a great place to visit.  My pick is Scuttlers, by the excellent Rona Munro.  Also don’t miss the weekly Special FX on Friday evening, and look out for innovative new theatre in the studio.

8.  Learn more about Manchester at the Central Library and John Rylands Library.

9.  Go to the Capitol Theatre to see some of the best future actors perform at MMU.  Innovative choice of plays and brilliant theatre.

10.  Keep an eye out for the Fringe listings; go to a venue you’ve never before been to.  Try something completely different.
